La Rencontre nationale des arts médiatiques 2026 s’inscrit sous le thème Oeuvrer en syntonie qui invite à penser les arts médiatiques indépendants comme un ensemble de relations en résonance. Dans un contexte marqué par des transformations rapides et des tensions sociales et politiques, Oeuvrer en syntonie propose de mieux s’accorder pour transformer, résister et durer ensemble. Le programme s’articule autour d’axes interconnectés : mémoires, pratiques, relations, territoires, conditions de travail, technologies et futurs. Ces axes serviront de points de départ pour explorer les multiples dimensions du travail en arts médiatiques d’aujourd’hui, en revisitant le passé des centres d’artistes et en imaginant les formes à inventer pour demain.

Nous invitons l’ensemble des travailleur·euse·s culturel·le·s (administrateur·trice·s, stagiaires, programmateur·trice·s, gestionnaires, technicien·ne·s et toutes les autres personnes qui font avancer les organismes du secteur des arts médiatiques) à participer à ce rassemblement, y compris les travailleur·euse·s culturel·le·s émergent·e·s, LGBTQIA2S+ et BIPOC, ainsi que les membres de longue date de la communauté. La Rencontre nationale des arts médiatiques vise à faire progresser les pratiques artistiques dans le secteur des arts médiatiques et à favoriser le développement professionnel, la collaboration et les échanges.

L'équipe de l’AAMI est reconnaissante de pouvoir planifier cette nouvelle édition du rassemblement avec Marianne Breton et Belén Pedrocca d'OBORO, Alexandra Boilard-Lefebvre de Vidéographe, Erin Saunders de Quickdraw Animation Society et Rachel Broussard de PAVED Arts, et avec la participation de Ada X et du Groupe intervention vidéo (GIV). Le centre principal de la conférence sera cette année le bâtiment 4001 Berri, et nous exprimons notre profonde gratitude à nos partenaires pour leur accueil !

Pour ceux et celles qui viennent de plus loin, nous vous encourageons à commencer vos demandes de financement de voyage auprès de vos conseils provinciaux et du Conseil des arts du Canada.  L'AAMI s'engage à soutenir tous les membres qui nous contacteront afin de trouver des moyens de faciliter leur participation. Join us in Tiohtià:ke (Montreal, Quebec) from June 17 to 19, 2026!

The 2026 National Media Arts Conference is held under the theme Tuning in, which invites us to consider independent media arts as a set of resonant relationships. In a context marked by rapid change and social and political tensions, Tuning in proposes that we better attune ourselves to transform, resist, and endure together. The program is structured around interconnected areas of focus: memories, practices, relationships, territories, working conditions, technologies, and futures. These areas will serve as starting points for exploring the multiple dimensions of media arts practice today, revisiting the history of artist-run centers and imagining the forms yet to be invented for tomorrow.

We invite all cultural workers - administrators, interns, programmers, managers, technicians and all other roles that steer organizations forwards - in the Media Arts Sector to attend this Gathering, including: emerging, LGBTQIA2S+ and BIPOC cultural workers, as well as long standing members of the community. The Gathering is intended to advance arts practices in the media arts sector and to nurture professional development, collaboration, and exchange. 

The IMAA team is grateful to be planning this year’s event alongside Marianne Breton and Belén Pedrocca of OBORO, Alexandra Boilard-Lefebvre of Vidéographe, Erin Saunders of the Quickdraw Animation Society, and Rachel Broussard of PAVED Arts, with the participation of Ada X and the Groupe intervention vidéo (GIV). The main venue for this year’s conference will be the 4001 Berri building, and we extend our deepest gratitude to our partners for hosting us!

For those coming from further afield, we encourage you to begin your travel funding applications with your provincial councils and the Canada Council for the Arts. IMAA will ensure to support every member that contacts us and will find ways to facilitate their participation.
