Programme

La Rencontre nationale des arts médiatiques 2026 s’inscrit sous le thème Oeuvrer en syntonie qui invite à penser les arts médiatiques indépendants comme un ensemble de relations en résonance. Dans un contexte marqué par des transformations rapides et des tensions sociales et politiques, Oeuvrer en syntonie propose de mieux s’accorder pour transformer, résister et durer ensemble. Le programme s’articule autour d’axes interconnectés : mémoires, pratiques, relations, territoires, conditions de travail, technologies et futurs. Ces axes serviront de points de départ pour explorer les multiples dimensions du travail en arts médiatiques d’aujourd’hui, en revisitant le passé des centres d’artistes et en imaginant les formes à inventer pour demain.

Le programme prend forme - En attendant de pouvoir vous communiquer le programme détaillé, voici quelques informations pour vous aider à planifier votre voyage. L'événement d'ouverture, le mercredi 17 juin, débutera vers 10 heures par un discours d'ouverture et une séance plénière qui se poursuivra jusqu'à 12 heures, heure à laquelle nous prendrons notre lunch. Le vendredi 19, nous terminerons la journée vers 16h. Choisissez votre groupe de travail - En réponse à l'intérêt constant des membres pour tirer parti du temps passé ensemble afin d'obtenir des résultats concrets, l'événement de cette année comportera trois groupes de travail au sein desquels les participants pourront élaborer des documents, des plans et des stratégies pour leurs organisations. 

Bien que l'orientation précise de chaque groupe de travail soit encore en cours d'élaboration, les trois thèmes que nous aborderons sont les politiques en matière de ressources humaines, les politiques en matière d'intelligence artificielle et la structure  de la défense des intérêts. Les différents groupes de travail se réuniront simultanément et seront dirigés par un animateur. L'objectif commun des trois groupes sera d'œuvrer à l'obtention de résultats concrets pouvant soutenir les activités organisationnelles.

Oeuvrer en syntonie est organisé par l'Alliance des arts médiatiques indépendants (AAMI) en partenariat avec OBORO et Vidéographe et en collaboration avec PAVED Arts, Quickdraw Animation Society (QAS), le Groupe intervention vidéo (GIV) et Ada X.

Program

The 2026 National Media Arts Conference is held under the theme Tuning in, which invites us to consider independent media arts as a set of resonant relationships. In a context marked by rapid change and social and political tensions, Tuning in proposes that we better attune ourselves to transform, resist, and endure together. The program is structured around interconnected areas of focus: memories, practices, relationships, territories, working conditions, technologies, and futures. These areas will serve as starting points for exploring the multiple dimensions of media arts practice today, revisiting the history of artist-run centers and imagining the forms yet to be invented for tomorrow.

The program is taking shape - Until we can share a detailed schedule with you, here are a few details to help you plan your travel. The opening event on Wednesday, June 17th, will begin around 10am with the opening remarks and plenary lasting until 12pm when we’ll have lunch. On Friday the 19th we will be wrapping up the day at approximately 4pm. We will announce the program in the coming months, but in the meantime if you have questions that would support your plans in coming to the conference please email us at info@imaa.ca.

Choose Your Working Group - In response to ongoing member interest in taking advantage of gathering time to work on tangible outcomes, this year’s event will have three working groups where participants will be able to develop documents, plans, and strategies for their organizations.

While the exact focus of each working group is still being developed, the three topics we will be addressing are Human Resource policy, Artificial Intelligence policy, and Advocacy frameworks. The different working groups will happen concurrently and will be led by a facilitator. The shared aim of all three groups will be to work towards a material outcome that can support organizational operations.
